Quantitative Analyst – Parametric Insurance

We are seeking highly skilled and motivated Quantitative Analysts to play a pivotal role in the development, pricing, and implementation of innovative parametric insurance products. This position focuses on leveraging statistical modeling, climate science, and insurance concepts to address climate and disaster risks. The ideal candidate brings a strong analytical mindset, an aptitude for problem-solving, and a passion for creating impactful solutions for climate resilience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop advanced quantitative models to determine pricing and underwriting strategies for parametric insurance products.
  • Analyse climate and disaster risk data to assess exposure and inform product design.
  • Collaborate with product managers and engineers to design innovative insurance solutions.
  • Assist in defining payout triggers and thresholds for parametric insurance products.
  • Support claims monitoring processes, ensuring triggers are objectively assessed and payouts are accurate.
  • Evaluate product performance using statistical and analytical methods, providing recommendations for optimization.
  • Work with data scientists to analyse weather and disaster datasets for risk assessment.
  • Generate insights for market research, customer needs, and competitive positioning.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, collaborating with legal and compliance teams.
  • Prepare reports and visualizations for internal and external stakeholders to communicate risk assessments and product performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering or any other quantitative field.
  • Ability to code in Python for data analysis, advanced statistical modelling, and automation of pricing/monitoring workflows.
  • Strong quantitative aptitude — comfort with statistics, probability, and numerical reasoning.
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to learn quickly in a fast-moving, cross-functional environment.
  • 0-1 years of experience in a relevant domain.
  • Functional understanding of insurance fundamentals.
  • Clear communication skills — ability to translate technical outputs into structured insights for internal and external stakeholders.
